Unique Welfare Foundation (UWF) is running a Centre for Handicapped Children with project name "Unique Champions" at E – 119, Kalkaji, New Delhi - 110019 where we provide free transportation, meal, Education (Pre Voc/Voc Skills), different types of Therapies to our forty (40) special students age between six (6) to twenty five (25) years with mental & physical disability. They are from local community near to our centre, who live in poor needy families that cannot afford education & medical care of their children. We have staff such as special educators Doctors, project coordinator assistant coordinator care taker field boy. This centre focuses on special education, rehabilitation & vocation training.

Disability UWF

We are trying through this project to improve the quality of life for disabled children in poor families around to our centre. At our centre parents of special child come for support & education. Our prime focus is on special education with additional support, such as occupational therapy, vocational training etc. Each child has a specific treatment plan with individual goals that the whole team works towards to achieve the target.

Currently our centre having 1 therapy rooms, 1 day care room, 1 class room, 1 hall for education & training, a reception & staff room. This centre is situated in a location close to government school and between the markets of Kalkaji, New Delhi. It is situated on main road of kalkaji with ease transportation facility.

In New Delhi, We are currently working with children below 25 years of age with various difficulties- Physical and Mental. They all have different disabilities, some of them come from nearby, mostly live in slum area. Unique Welfare Foundation provide a second home to special needs children where they not only find an enabling environment to learn but also a space where they can feel safe, express their feelings and share their problems. Unique Welfare Foundation gives a voice to these disadvantaged children.

Unique Welfare Foundation is aiming to make these children as much independent as possible in their life. Here they are provided with different facilities. The facilities include Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, speech Therapy, Special Education (one-on-one basis), Pre- Vocational/ Vocational training and ABA Therapy (Applied Behaviour Analysis) as well as Counselling.

Rising:  

Soni Rawat daughter, Shri Vinod Rawat, who is disabled with one leg, she was found during community visit and her parents were counselled regarding her condition and the ways in which she could improve. Over the year the brave girl has undergone extensive physiotherapy to improve her disability. Now Soni, has been mainstreamed into formal school and continues to show consistent improvements.
